The goal of the game is to frogs, to direct their houses to one after the other. To do this, each frog must avoid cars crossing at a busy road and navigate a river full of hazards. Skilled players can get some bonuses along the way. The game is like a classic from the golden age of arcade games and was regarded for its novel gameplay and theme noted.

I remember the first time I played Moon Patrol on a stand up arcade game. I was probably 10 years old, and we were having pizza at Straw Hat Pizza, a local pizza joint that always seemed to have some of the latest and greatest arcade games. For some reason, navigating that moon rover buggy over the craters and blasting the hovering aliens while trying to get to the next zone safely was addictingly fun. After playing it that first time I was definitely hooked and probably spend more quarters on that game than any other in my arcade frequenting years. What I remember most is Moon Patrol was really the first arcade game I remember that had the scrolling game play motion, which definitely increased the reality versus games like space invaders or asteroids. Moon Patrol was the future of video games and oh how far we’ve come since then. Enjoy the Moon Patrol screen shot below. If you didn’t remember the game before, now you will.
